Outpatient Therapy
Catholic Charities offers Master's level therapists to provide individual, family and marital therapy. We have therapists that specialize in play therapy, domestic violence, abuse and neglect issues, treatment of ADHD, conduct and other behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, grief and loss issues, relationship issues, substance abuse, sexual offenses, eating disorders, self harmful behavior and a variety of other issues or disorders. Catholic Charities takes many forms of insurance and also utilizes a sliding fee scale for those with no insurance. Our agency also provides in home services based on Department of Human Services referrals only. We see clients of all ages.
School Social Work
Currently, a Master's level therapist visits 3 local Catholic middle schools to provide school social work services on a weekly basis. These services include teacher education, bullying programs, brief therapy for a small number of children and referral for other services as needed.
Sex Offender Group Therapy
Catholic Charities offers group therapy for adult and adolescent sexual offenders who are on Probation or Parole through the Deaprtment of Corrections. The 30 week group encourages the client to take responsibility for their sexual offense, learn appropriate behavior, develop and maintain a plan to remain free of sexual offenses as well as monitoring and reporting to their referring party on a consistent basis. The adolescent sexual offender group also incorporates family sessions in the program. Each group is facilitated by a master's level clinician, specifically trained in this area.
Aggression Intervention Program
The Aggression Intervention Program is a 30 or 52 week batterer intervention program that focuses on the issue of domestic violence and the use of power and control in relationships. The program is separated into sessions for men (AIM) as well as sessions for women (AIW). The program follows adheres to state standards and follows the Duluth Model as part of a coordinated, community response to end domestic violence. The goal of the sessions is for one to acknowledge the use of power and control in their relationships and change their beliefs and behaviors to lead a nonviolent lifestyle. The success of the program is based on individual desire to take responsibility and make the changes necessary. Each session is co-facilitated by Master's and Bachelor's level facilitators specifically trained in the area of domestic violence.
Prevention Groups
Catholic Charities provides monthly education classes. Adult and Adolescent Understanding Anger, Effects of Marijuana and Charting Your Course (Making Better Decisions) are 4-week classes that provide education primarily for clients referred by the court system though the groups are open to the general public as well. The classes provide tools and resources to help individuals change maladaptive behavior
Violence Prevention Program
The Violence Prevention Program is a 12 week Anger Management program designed to address the issues of appropriate expression of feelings, respect, accountability and effective stress management. The program is open to men and women, who want to enhance their relationships, communicate effectively and respond appropriately to stressful situations.
Substance Abuse Program
Catholic Charities contracts with the Department of Corrections to provide substance abuse services to Probation and Parole clients as well as MPRI clients. Early Intervention and Redirect are the two tracks that a client may be referred to based on criteria. This program is facilitated by Bachelor's level substance abuse specialists.
WE C.A.R.E.
This is a marriage prep course based on the highly acclaimed program Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP). This program is designed to teach couples communication skills and techniques for handling conflict and promoting intimacy with the aim of preventing future marital problems and divorce. This program emphasizes constructive arguing techniques that allow couples to adjust their communication styles and achieve more positive and intimate communication, in a Christian setting.

Additional Services
Catholic Charities currently has therapists trained in P.I.C.K. and Smart Steps. These programs are educational programs focusing on healthy marriages and relationship enhancement.

Catholic Charities staff is able to develop and implement a variety of services based on the needs of the community. This can include community presentations, educational seminars, school presentations, and topic specific, educational, and training or support groups.
